Anne is a native Californian who grew up riding horses and working at a veterinary clinic. When she discovered that the humans are infinitely more interesting than horses (no offense to the equines!), she decided to shift her focus to the pursuit of human medicine. She attended medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at UC Davis. She worked as a hospitalist and then completed a Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at UCLA.
For the last seven years, she has provided primary care services in the town of Bishop, California, where she has learned the importance of meeting people where they are in terms of their health. She has learned both the wonders and the limitations of conventional medicine. Seeking to help her patients who continue to have health issues despite receiving what is considered optimal care within our medical system, she began to study functional medicine, graduating from the Institute of Functional Medicine’s Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice Course. She has also taken the Blackburn Course in Obesity Medicine. Through these courses and a variety of study in related fields, she has come to strongly believe in the power of lifestyle-driven protocols to prevent and reverse many aspects of chronic illness.
In the midst of her medical training and practice, she also developed a passion for the outdoors, particularly rock climbing and long distance hiking. She has grown as a mountain athlete, exploring fitness protocols, sleep, psychology, stress reduction, and nutrition in depth. Along with these pursuits, she has also develop an interest in longevity medicine and extending healthspan. She loves to spend time with her husband and two children, exploring the Eastern Sierra, as well as spending time at home cooking, reading, and working on puzzles.
